About Us
Dwaina Sprague Interior Design is a full-service Interior Design practice based in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia; the ancestral, unceded and occupied territories of the Xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Watuth) nations of the Coast Salish peoples – whose relationship with the land is ancient, primary and enduring.
We have an extensive portfolio with more than 25 years of experience working on large and small projects in both residential and commercial design, new builds and renovations.
We believe that when we design supportive spaces that empower people to be better and to do better in the world, it ripples outward in ways we may never know.

SPRAGUE
Design process “sherpa”, interior designer, feminist, mother, grandmother, spiritual seeker, lover of home and all that it symbolizes and represents.
“My why is to create space that is nurturing and supportive so that people thrive and feel inspired to share their best selves with the world. I prefer to engage, educate and collaborate with my clients rather then sell them an interior design concept. The interior design process is not a commodity. It’s a relationship created between client and designer”
“When I work with clients I am most interested to discover who they are, how they live, what they care about, and how they really want to feel in their home or work space.”
The questions that drive the team’s project discovery process, creating the foundation for the work that Dwaina Sprague Interior Design consistently delivers, are:
- Are we collaborating with their vision?
- Are we serving the bigger picture?
- Are our values in alignment?
“I am not trendy. I don’t want to design around what is most popular but rather around what best serves the client and how they live. I love classic design that has longevity and has endured beautifully. Simple things that make people comfortable. Soft natural fabrics, nature created materials – wood, stone and things with texture; lighting and furnishings that complement not distract. It is easy to be seduced by the latest thing. If it won’t stand the test of time then I steer away from it.”
After 25 years of creating spaces, what Dwaina and her team find most fulfilling is working with people who know not only how important their homes or workspaces are to them but how important they are for them.
Community
Homelessness breaks our hearts.
Although it is a basic human right to have a home, we know that so many don’t.
We believe that when we open our hearts to what a privilege it is to have a home, to honour and
appreciate it, we can become better versions of ourselves.
Covenant House Vancouver, provides love and hope to Vancouver’s homeless and at-risk street youth. They help young people aged 16 to 24 who have fled physical, emotional and sexual abuse; those who have been forced from their homes; and those who have aged out of foster care.
The Sleep Out Movement where participants take to the streets with only a sleeping bag and a piece of cardboard helps raise critical funds and awareness to ensure that the homeless youth in Vancouver have a safe place to stay.
We value and appreciate the great work of Covenant House and hope that you’ll join us in supporting this critically important community organization.
